The Eligible Countries for Japan eVisa are based on the applicant’s country or region of residence as well as nationality and visa-exemption status. As of May 15, 2026, the JAPAN eVISA system is available to eligible applicants residing in countries and regions including Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It also covers specified applicants residing in China, the Philippines, Viet Nam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macau, Mongolia, South Korea, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, subject to the applicable conditions and application procedures.
The current online system is for eligible travellers seeking a single-entry short-term tourism visa, generally for up to 90 days. Nationals who are already exempt from Japan’s short-term visa requirement do not need to apply for an eVisa.
